Manufacturing Project Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Manufacturing Project Manager (internally known as Start Up Lead) to own the commissioning, qualification and verification of a new manufacturing and packaging line at our Billingham site. You will guide the project from start‑up through to full production and then lead the newly established production area.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the start‑up phase of a new line, coordinating commissioning, qualification and verification activities.
• Work closely with Engineering, Operations and external partners to schedule and deliver key milestones.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring safety and efficiency throughout the launch.
• After start‑up, lead a 24/7 production team, driving performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost and people development.
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and report progress against the project plan.

Required profile

• Proven experience in manufacturing project delivery and line start‑up.
• Strong leadership skills to manage a round‑the‑clock production team.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, operations and external suppliers.
• Focus on safety, quality, cost control and continuous improvement.
