Marine Account Handler – Broker Technician

About the role

You will join a well‑established insurance broker operating in the London Market, supporting brokers and senior account handlers throughout the broking lifecycle. The position offers exposure to marine hull and cargo insurance and the chance to develop technical expertise in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist brokers and senior account handlers with pre‑placement, placement and post‑placement activities.
• Prepare and manage market and client documentation, including slips and wordings.
• Maintain internal systems and records in line with regulatory requirements.
• Respond to client queries, ensuring high‑quality service at all times.
• Support renewal activity and prepare documentation for market presentation.
• Collaborate with broking teams to ensure seamless execution of client programmes.

Required profile

• Solid understanding of the London Insurance Market.
• Experience in an account handling or technical support role, preferably within marine hull or marine cargo insurance.
• Strong knowledge of insurance documentation and market processes.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to pursue professional qualifications such as ACII.
