Market Relationship Manager

About the role

We are partnering with a leading UK insurance broking and underwriting group to hire a Market Relationship Manager for its Market Management team. The role is hybrid, based in London three days a week, and involves owning a panel of insurer relationships to drive growth and commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop key insurer relationships, delivering agreed commercial objectives.
• Build strong relationships with insurers and internal stakeholders across the business.
• Analyse performance data and market information to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
• Identify new revenue opportunities and support initiatives designed to drive growth.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve market, operational and commercial challenges.
• Support strategic projects and wider business improvement initiatives.
• Monitor market trends, insurer strategies and regulatory developments and assess their impact.
• Provide insight and recommendations to senior stakeholders to support commercial decision‑making.
• Track and report on relationship and portfolio performance, using data to demonstrate tangible business outcomes.

Required profile

• Ambitious and commercially driven individual confident in building relationships and turning insight into action.
• Experience in market management, insurer relationship, distribution, broking or a commercial role, or strong transferable skills.
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data into meaningful commercial insight.
• Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging with senior individuals internally and externally.
• Commercially minded approach focused on identifying opportunities and delivering measurable results.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude, taking ownership and finding effective solutions.
• Strong communication and influencing abilities.
• Ability to build trusted, long‑term relationships with a range of stakeholders.
