Market Street Team Leader

About the role

Morrisons is looking for a Market Street Team Leader for its Pool Road store in Newtown. The role leads and supports the foodmakers across the counters (Deli, Oven Fresh, Pie Shop, Bakery, Cake Shop and Fresh to Go) so that customers get friendly service, attractive displays and tasty food. It is a permanent position of 36.75 hours per week, with flexible availability 5 out of 7 days including weekends, and shifts between 05:00 and 19:00.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the team to deliver friendly, attentive service across all counters, listen to customer feedback and help resolve queries quickly
• Coordinate day-to-day counter communication, multi-skill colleagues across departments and coach them to build confidence and high performance
• Work with managers to deliver departmental sales plans, using product knowledge and active selling to build trade and hit targets
• Maintain shopkeeping standards, follow production plans to minimise waste and markdowns, and comply with food safety and health regulations

Required profile

• Ideally strong operational knowledge of fresh food counters and proven experience leading teams and coaching colleagues
• Able to plan workload efficiently, handle daily priorities and analyse department data to spot opportunities with the Market Street Manager
• Practical approach to daily routines, with attention to stock rotation, date code checking, food safety and waste reduction
