Material Controller – Export

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate export paperwork including commercial invoices, packing lists, carrier documents and certificates of origin.
• Check orders, shipping instructions, Incoterms, HS codes, EORI details and customer requirements before release.
• Book shipments with approved couriers, carriers and freight forwarders and produce clear labels and shipping instructions.
• Pack and prepare goods for export while maintaining product integrity and safe working practices.
• Identify compliance risks such as licences, sanctions, dangerous goods and resolve customs queries or documentation issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience in export, international shipping, freight forwarding or customs.
• Strong knowledge of UK export procedures, Incoterms, HS/commodity codes, EORI and shipment details.
• Awareness of export controls, sanctions, licensing and dangerous goods regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to stay calm when priorities change.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office (including Outlook).
• Experience with customs documentation systems or carrier platforms.
