Material Handler II – Warehouse Logistics

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Material Handler II to join our onsite team in Heysham. The role involves managing the day‑to‑day flow of goods, including fine chemicals, within a safe, compliant warehouse environment. This is an entry‑level position for a detail‑oriented individual who enjoys structured processes and teamwork.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, unpack and record incoming shipments in the JD Edwards (JDE) system.
• Store bulk and pre‑packaged items in the correct hazard‑controlled warehouses.
• Pick stock for repack orders and prepare UK and export shipments following packing and labeling standards.
• Load vehicles, complete shipping paperwork and support courier and third‑party logistics.
• Perform regular cycle counts and investigate “Not on Location” discrepancies.
• Handle fine chemicals in line with Chemical Exposure Management (CEM) regulations and overall health‑and‑safety policies.

Required profile

• Previous warehouse or material‑handling experience is desirable but not mandatory.
• Forklift Truck (FLT) licence preferred.
• Comfort working with chemicals under strict safety protocols.
• Eligibility to live and work in the United Kingdom.

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy, preferably with JD Edwards (JDE) inventory system.
• Forklift Truck (FLT) operating licence (preferred).

What we offer

• £13.20 per hour plus overtime.
• Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday 08:00‑16:00.
• 12‑month fixed‑term contract with the possibility of extension.
