Material Handling Team Leader – Norwich

About the role

Lotus UK Manufacturing is seeking a Material Handling Team Leader to join its Supply team at the state‑of‑the‑art facility in Norwich. You will lead a team responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing goods safely and efficiently, supporting the production of iconic sports cars.

Key responsibilities

• Provide support, encouragement and direction to team members to achieve daily objectives.
• Ensure goods received are correctly booked, safely stored and routed to the right locations on time.
• Monitor health and safety compliance, promote safe working practices and reduce incidents.
• Lead 5S initiatives and continuous improvement projects within the department.
• Deputise for the Supervisor when required and report personnel or work‑related issues.
• Plan job rotation and manage absence cover to maintain flexibility.
• Operate forklifts, narrow‑aisle trucks, tow tugs, lift stackers and powered pallet trucks safely.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and issue material to internal or external locations.

Required profile

• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) or higher qualifications in engineering or supply chain.
• Proven experience leading a material handling or warehouse team in a manufacturing environment.
• Organised, flexible, detail‑oriented and able to communicate effectively.
• Good attendance and health record.

Required skills

• Safe operation of forklift.
• Use of Man‑up narrow‑aisle trucks, tow tugs, lift stackers and powered pallet trucks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
