Materials & Production Planner / Scheduler

About the role

Acorn by Synergie is seeking a Materials & Production Planner to join a busy manufacturing business in Bridgwater. You will balance customer demand with production capacity, maintain accurate planning data in the ERP system, and ensure timely delivery of products.

Key responsibilities

• Manage short‑term production plans and customer order schedules within agreed parameters.
• Collaborate with Customer Service, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Dispatch, Quality and Product Engineering to confirm delivery dates.
• Communicate production risks, delays and schedule changes to stakeholders.
• Assess capacity constraints, support bottleneck reduction and backlog management.
• Enter and maintain customer orders, create and release production orders in the ERP system.
• Monitor shortfalls, coordinate rescheduling, lead‑time changes and order closures.
• Respond to lead‑time and order enquiries via internal systems, email and SharePoint.
• Prepare production documentation, liaise with Purchasing and Dispatch, and attend daily planning meetings.

Required profile

• GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
• Previous experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain, order management or a similar operational environment.
• Proven ability to work accurately with ERP systems and maintain data integrity.
