Materials & Testing Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Materials & Testing Engineer to join a specialist team at a state‑of‑the‑art facility near Exeter. You will lead technical investigations and perform advanced destructive, mechanical and thermal testing on composite materials, supporting both internal projects and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct hands‑on laboratory testing using specialised equipment.
• Manage testing projects from inception to delivery, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
• Act as the technical expert for internal teams and external clients, driving investigations and problem‑solving.

Required profile

• Degree in Materials, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Industrial experience with composites or adhesives.
• Practical laboratory experience and familiarity with material testing standards.
• Strong analytical and project‑management abilities, able to work full‑time on‑site.
