Maternity Cover Waking Night Support Worker (20 hrs/week)

About the role

We are seeking a confident, outgoing and resilient Waking Night Support Worker to provide maternity cover for up to one year. This part‑time role (20 hours per week) supports adults aged 18‑72 living in three bungalows on a 1‑to‑1 basis.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver person‑centred waking night support to service users with learning disabilities, mental health needs, autism and/or challenging behaviour.
• Adapt quickly to changing situations and think on your feet to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Work within a positive behaviour support framework and follow agreed guidelines.
• Collaborate with a consistent, mutually supportive team to maintain a positive ethos.

Required profile

• Confident, outgoing, fun‑loving and resilient.
• Eligible to work in the UK; no sponsorship or Skilled Worker visa required.
• Willing to work onsite in County Durham on a waking night schedule.

Required skills

• Positive communication and engagement.
• Ability to demonstrate unconditional positive regard for people supported.
• Capability to operate within a positive behaviour support framework.
