About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a passionate Maths and GCSE Tutor to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in Oxfordshire. The role involves delivering one‑to‑one lessons that bridge learning gaps and build confidence for exam success.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver personalised one‑to‑one GCSE Maths (and English) lessons tailored to each learner’s SEN profile.
- Adapt lesson content, pace and teaching style to support emotional regulation and diverse learning needs.
- Develop subject knowledge, study skills and exam confidence in students.
- Build a trusting, consistent rapport to create a safe learning environment.
- Monitor progress and provide clear, constructive feedback to parents, carers or professionals.
Required profile
- Minimum 1 year experience teaching or tutoring Maths and English to children or young people with SEN.
- Experience designing individualised lesson plans aligned with EHCPs or identified support needs.
- Right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
- Desirable: SEN qualification, ABA experience, training in autism/social communication strategies, PGCE or QTS.
