Maths Lecturer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Maths Lecturer to deliver vocational mathematics courses to learners in Further Education colleges across the North East of England. The role can be full‑time or part‑time and may be permanent or fixed‑term.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess functional skills, GCSE, A‑Level and other accredited maths programmes.
• Coordinate teaching and assessment activities in line with the Head of School’s guidance.
• Act as a class tutor, handling administrative and pastoral duties.
• Liaise with college staff and external partners to support learner progress.

Required profile

• Occupational competence in mathematics at the relevant teaching level.
• Qualified teacher status (QTS), QTLS, DTTLS, PGCE or equivalent teaching/training qualification.
• Proven experience teaching and assessing accredited qualifications from Entry Level to Level 3‑5.

Required skills

• Ability to develop and deliver curriculum‑aligned lesson plans.
• Strong assessment and feedback skills.
• Effective communication with learners and staff.
