Maths Specialist Graduate – Secondary School (Full‑time)

About the role

This full‑time graduate placement is based in a high‑achieving secondary school in Hillingdon. It is designed for recent Mathematics graduates who want hands‑on classroom experience before entering teacher training. You will work alongside experienced maths teachers, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key responsibilities

• Support students in maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions to improve understanding and boost attainment.
• Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging maths lessons.
• Support students preparing for GCSE examinations.
• Explain mathematical concepts clearly and accessibly.
• Encourage confidence, resilience and independence in learners.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Help with classroom management and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Assist with revision sessions, homework clubs and enrichment activities.

Required profile

• A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
• Strong academic background in maths.
• Experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A positive, patient and enthusiastic approach.
