Maths Teacher – Full‑Time – Halton

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with a well‑established college in Halton to hire a passionate Maths Teacher for a full‑time position starting September 2026. You will teach GCSE Maths and Functional Skills Maths to post‑16 learners in a supportive, well‑resourced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging GCSE and Functional Skills Maths lessons.
• Plan, prepare and assess lessons to meet diverse learner needs.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Create an inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages confidence in mathematics.
• Collaborate with colleagues to uphold high teaching standards.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching GCSE Maths and/or Functional Skills Maths.
• Strong classroom management and the ability to motivate learners.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Enhanced DBS registration (or willingness to apply) and a full 10‑year career history.
• Legal right to work in the UK.

Required skills

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
• Relevant teaching qualification for post‑16 mathematics.
