Maths Teacher – SEMH School (Islington)

About the role

Remedy Education is recruiting a passionate Maths Teacher for a specialist SEMH secondary school in Islington. The school focuses on social, emotional and mental health needs while delivering a creative curriculum that builds confidence and resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Maths lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Plan and adapt lessons to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH and additional needs.
• Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Monitor, assess, and track student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as required.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, therapists, and senior leaders to support student development.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Maths in a secondary school setting.
• Strong behaviour management and relationship‑building skills.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management abilities.
• Patient, adaptable, and resilient approach to teaching.
