Maths Teacher – SEN School (Sefton)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Maths Teacher to join a long‑term placement at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Sefton, Merseyside. The role is full‑time and temporary, ideal for qualified teachers or early‑career teachers looking to gain experience in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons that meet the national curriculum and the specific needs of SEN students.
• Use a hands‑on, interactive approach to make complex concepts accessible.
• Create a stimulating classroom atmosphere that encourages independent thinking and confidence.
• Monitor individual progress and adapt teaching strategies to support each learner’s development.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England.
• Experience or strong interest in teaching SEND pupils.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (or existing clearance).
• Early‑career teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply.

Required skills

• Deep and secure knowledge of mathematics content.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs.
