Maths Trainee Teacher – Salaried & Funded Training

About the role

We are partnering with a Good & Outstanding secondary school on the outskirts of Slough to recruit a high‑achieving maths graduate. The role starts as an academic mentor/teaching assistant, progresses to an unqualified teacher, and culminates in a fully funded, salaried teacher‑training programme.

Key responsibilities

• Support maths classes across KS3‑KS5 as a teaching assistant.
• Deliver targeted interventions to improve individual student progress.
• Gradually take on a teaching timetable under mentor guidance.
• Participate in a salaried teacher‑training programme from September 2027.
• Achieve QTS and secure a teaching post for September 2028.

Required profile

• 2:1 (or 1st) degree in maths or a related discipline from a reputable university.
• Strong academic background at A‑Level and GCSE.
• Enthusiastic, resilient and confident communicator.
• Commitment to a teaching career and personal development.

Required skills

• Mathematics subject knowledge.
