Mazak CNC Setter/Operator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mazak CNC Setter/Operator to join our modern manufacturing facility serving the aerospace and defence sectors. You will work on both turning and milling machines, ensuring precision components are produced to exact specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate Mazak CNC turning and milling machines.
• Prepare tooling and materials for each job within required timeframes.
• Read, edit and optimise CNC programs as needed.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to guide production.
• Use measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges) for in‑process and final inspections.
• Maintain output levels while upholding quality and safety standards.
• Monitor machine performance, make adjustments, and record work orders.
• Identify and resolve basic technical issues, escalating when necessary.

Required profile

• 3–5 years’ experience in a CNC machining role, preferably with Mazak equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Competence with measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers and gauges.
• Good mathematical and technical problem‑solving skills.
• Qualification in Engineering or a related field is desirable.
