Mechanic Fitter Team Leader

About the role

Our client, a long‑established maintenance provider for Heathrow Airport, is seeking an experienced Vehicle Maintenance Technician to step up as Workshop Team Leader. You will lead a team responsible for the upkeep of non‑motorised ground support equipment, ensuring both planned and reactive work meets the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned and unscheduled maintenance on non‑motorised ground support equipment.
• Lead, coach and support the workshop team to deliver work safely and efficiently.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs on a range of equipment.
• Complete accurate maintenance records for all jobs.
• Promote a safe, organised and compliant working environment.
• Liaise with internal teams to maximise equipment availability and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Vehicle Maintenance Technician or in a similar mechanical role.
• Proven experience leading or supervising a workshop team.
• Strong fault‑finding and repair abilities.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Proactive attitude with a commitment to high‑quality workmanship.
