Mechanic & MOT Tester – Full‑Time (Chippenham)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Level 2‑3 Mechanic and MOT Tester to join our automotive service team in Chippenham. The role involves performing vehicle repairs, routine maintenance and conducting MOT tests to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine vehicle maintenance and repairs, including engine diagnostics, brake repairs, suspension work and tyre fitting.
• Perform comprehensive MOT testing in line with legal requirements and industry standards.
• Use hand tools and power tools to disassemble, repair and re‑assemble vehicle components.
• Identify mechanical issues through inspection and diagnostic procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed on each vehicle.
• Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist with parts ordering and workshop stock management.
• Support a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a mechanic or MOT tester with relevant qualifications.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast‑paced team.
• Valid driving licence preferred but not essential.
• Commitment to high standards of safety, quality and customer service.
