About the role
Join the British Army as a full‑time Vehicle Mechanic and keep the force moving. No prior experience is required – you will receive comprehensive training to service a wide range of military vehicles, from tanks to heavy goods vehicles.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and service all Army vehicle types, ensuring operational readiness.
- Carry out preventative maintenance programmes.
- Assist with roadworthiness testing and inspections.
- Work in line with Army maintenance policies and Health & Safety guidelines.
- Support vehicle availability both in barracks and on deployments.
Required profile
- Age between 16 years 6 months and 35 years 6 months.
- Pass a basic fitness test.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) grade A*‑C/9‑4 in English Language, Maths and Science.

- Starting salary of £27,282 per year, with promotion potential up to £40,989.
- 38 days annual leave plus bank holidays and additional leave after operations.
