Mechanical and Electrical Technician

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position offers a hands‑on technician the chance to work alongside experienced engineers assembling industrial machinery for the water sector. You will contribute to projects that protect the environment while developing your mechanical and electrical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Install and terminate electrical wiring, cables, sensors, motors and instrumentation.
• Build equipment from engineering drawings, wiring schematics, work instructions and bills of materials.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical assembly, including fitting pumps, valves, pipework, tanks, frames and ancillary equipment.
• Maintain accurate inspection, testing and build documentation.
• Record as‑built changes, report technical or quality issues and support their resolution.
• Keep the workshop clean, organised and compliant with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives to boost quality and efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical and electrical assembly within an engineering or industrial environment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical wiring diagrams.
• Competent use of standard mechanical and electrical tools.
• Completed an apprenticeship or formal qualification such as an ONC.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality work.
• Effective teamwork and independent working capability.
