Mechanical Assembler (Electro‑Mechanical)

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Assembler to join an established UK engineering manufacturer in Chelmsford. The role is workshop‑based, focusing on hands‑on electro‑mechanical assembly, wiring, crimping and soldering.

Key responsibilities

• Build electro‑mechanical assemblies and sub‑assemblies to specification.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and accurately.
• Carry out wiring tasks, including cable routing, termination and loom work.
• Perform crimping and soldering of connections to required standards.
• Read and follow engineering drawings, build instructions and checklists.
• Complete basic quality checks, report faults and support rework where required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electro‑mechanical assembly within a manufacturing environment.
• Confidence using hand tools and power tools.
• Practical wiring experience, including crimping and soldering.
• Ability to follow drawings and work instructions with strong attention to detail.
