Mechanical Assembly Technician

About the role

We are recruiting Mechanical Assembly Technicians to join Siemens Mobility’s new state-of-the-art facility in Goole, supporting the construction of London’s Piccadilly line underground trains. The role involves assembling mechanical components and interiors for the world-famous London Underground fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Mounting components, units or pre‑assemblies.
• Assembling mechanical parts and sub‑assemblies.
• Performing preparation work such as drilling, grinding and riveting.
• Pipe fitting and bonding tasks.
• Using pneumatic, hydraulic and other fitting systems.
• Documenting activities on glass or paper systems.
• Following production instructions and using correct tooling.
• Conducting regular quality, sight and functionality tests.

Required profile

• Level 3 mechanical qualification (preferred but not essential).
• Experience in manufacturing, maintenance, overhaul or pipe‑fitting environments.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Self‑starter with strong organisational skills, able to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Pipe fitting and bonding.
• Drilling, grinding and riveting.
• Pneumatic and hydraulic system operation.
• Use of SAP ERP.
