Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with a building services background to join a fast‑growing company delivering multi‑million‑pound projects for the MoD. The role offers full autonomy, hybrid/remote working and the chance to design a wide range of mechanical systems while managing budgets and timescales.

Key responsibilities

• Design HVAC, water and fire‑suppression systems for projects ranging from £5k to £3.5m.
• Prepare detailed mechanical specifications and drawings.
• Attend site meetings and liaise with clients and contractors.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules and delivery milestones.
• Provide technical guidance and ensure compliance with relevant standards.

Required profile

• Qualified Mechanical Engineer with experience in building services.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• Strong communication skills for client and site interactions.
• Willingness to work flexibly, including remote days.
