Mechanical Design Engineer – East Kilbride

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Mechanical Design Engineer to join a fast‑growing engineering and R&D team in East Kilbride. The role focuses on creating detailed 2D and 3D designs, supporting manufacturing, and ensuring product quality through rigorous engineering practices.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D and 3D mechanical designs using CAD tools.
• Support manufacturing and production troubleshooting activities.
• Apply revision control, Design for Manufacture (DFM) and GD&T principles.
• Participate in First Article Inspection (FAI) processes.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to present technical information clearly.

Required profile

• HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering, or a minimum CADD qualification.
• Strong IT and technical software skills.
• Demonstrable experience with 3D CAD (Inventor preferred) and 2D CAD (AutoCAD/DraftSight).

• GD&T and DFM knowledge
• Revision control systems
• Statistical tolerance analysis (RSS study)
• 3D printing and CNC machining experience
• Ansys Mechanical (finite element analysis)
