Mechanical Design Engineer – Exeter

About the role

This full‑time, office‑based role in Exeter offers a mechanical design engineer the chance to work on new product introductions and improvements within a growing international manufacturer of domestic products. You will be involved from concept through to completion, collaborating closely with the Engineering Manager and the wider engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop new and existing products using CAD software.
• Support the testing and validation of prototypes.
• Identify and resolve manufacturing process issues.
• Implement design improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to bring concepts to market.

Required profile

• Background in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with sheet‑metal components.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SolidWorks or Solid Edge CAD packages.
• Knowledge of sheet‑metal design and fabrication.
• Experience applying mechanical engineering principles to product development.
