Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are partnering with an emerging wearable medical‑technology company to develop next‑generation physiological monitoring devices. The Mechanical Design Engineer will join the engineering team to design, develop and validate mechanical systems that enable clinically meaningful insights outside the hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for wearable medical devices from concept through production.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical specifications, primarily using SolidWorks.
• Support prototyping, testing and iterative design activities across the product lifecycle.
• Apply structured medical‑device development processes, including design control, risk management and verification & validation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external suppliers to ensure designs meet manufacturing and quality requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in mechanical design within MedTech or another regulated product development environment.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and ability to produce detailed engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes relevant to wearable devices, such as plastics, elastomers and precision assembly.
• Understanding of structured product development processes, including exposure to design control and risk‑management methodologies (e.g., FMEA).
