Mechanical Design Engineer – Liverpool

About the role

A leading global manufacturer is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its engineering team in Liverpool. You will be responsible for designing, developing and continuously improving mechanical components and assemblies for innovative products supplied worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Create and develop 3D CAD models, technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Design mechanical components and assemblies for new and existing products.
• Support product development from concept through validation to production release.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, procurement and project teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Conduct design reviews, engineering calculations and tolerance analysis.
• Assist with prototype builds, testing activities and product verification.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, product improvement and enhanced manufacturability.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, NX or similar).
• Experience producing engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, injection moulding, assembly or fabrication.
