Mechanical Engineer – Hydraulics

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a focus on hydraulics to join a reputable engineering firm in Stroud. The role involves hands‑on work on hydraulic systems, supporting a variety of projects across marine, defence, aerospace and other sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out hydraulic engineering activities, including fault diagnosis, repair and overhaul of hydraulic systems.
• Manufacture and assemble hydraulic pipework and hose assemblies to customer specifications.
• Conduct inspections, surveys and assessments of hydraulic equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs and maintenance.
• Collaborate with colleagues and customers to deliver high‑quality engineering solutions.

Required profile

• Background in mechanical, hydraulic or vehicle engineering.
• Experience in fault‑finding and repair of engineering equipment.
• Hands‑on experience with hydraulic components, hoses and pipework assemblies.
• Positive, can‑do attitude with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and develop new skills in the hydraulics sector.
