Mechanical Engineer – Product Development (Reading)

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation in Reading. You will play a key part in developing, commercialising and customising innovative products for a global customer base.

Key responsibilities

• Support the full product lifecycle from concept and design through testing, certification, manufacturing and customer implementation.
• Deliver customer‑specific engineering solutions and produce technical documentation.
• Support product validation activities and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality and Purchasing teams.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• At least two years of experience in product development, manufacturing or an engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Test (DFT).
• Ability to produce technical drawings, specifications and engineering documentation.
• Organised, proactive with strong communication and teamwork skills.
