Mechanical Engineering Lecturer

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Lecturer to join our network of further‑education providers across South‑East England. You will deliver engaging engineering lessons to 16‑19 year‑old learners and apprentices, helping them develop the practical and theoretical skills required for the industry.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver mechanical engineering curriculum for FE courses.
• Assess student work, provide feedback and record progress in line with regulatory standards.
• Manage classroom behaviour and create a supportive learning environment.
• Collaborate with college staff to ensure compliance with health and safety, DBS and quality assurance requirements.
• Contribute to the development of teaching resources and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Teaching qualification such as AET, PTLLS, PGCE or equivalent.
• Assessors’ qualification (A1, D33/D34, CAVA, TAQA, IQA) is desirable.
• Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience working with 16‑19 year‑old learners or apprentices.
• Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Current Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one through Reed Compliance.
