Mechanical Engineering Lecturer (Training Provided)

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our teaching team and deliver practical Mechanical Engineering training. No prior teaching experience is required – you will receive full support and funding to gain recognised teaching qualifications while working in a modern workshop environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver hands‑on Mechanical Engineering sessions in workshops and classroom settings.
• Plan lessons, schemes of work and learning materials aligned with vocational standards.
• Assess learner progress, provide feedback and support individual development.
• Monitor achievement outcomes and contribute to curriculum development.
• Work collaboratively with an experienced teaching team.

Required profile

• Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Current experience as a Mechanical Engineer or in a related engineering role.
• Desire to transition into a teaching and training career.
• Ability to commute to Carlisle.
