Mechanical Engineering Tutor

About the role

The Liverpool John Moores University International Study Centre is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Tutor to join its teaching team on a fixed‑term, variable‑hour basis. You will deliver high‑quality instruction to international students preparing for university engineering programmes, combining face‑to‑face teaching with blended learning techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lectures and tutorials across multiple Mechanical Engineering modules, up to 20 contact hours per week.
• Mark assessments, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate records of attendance and grades.
• Act as Module Leader where required, coordinating tutor teams, updating handbooks, and preparing assessment analysis reports.
• Implement enrichment activities and promote the use of technology‑enhanced learning (TEL) and the virtual learning environment (VLE).
• Monitor student punctuality, attendance, behaviour, and progression risk, contributing to mid‑term and end‑term reports.
