Mechanical Estimator

About the role

We are recruiting an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join a growing building services company in Gravesend, Kent. This role offers ownership of pricing and tender submissions while working closely with the contracts team and directors.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse drawings, specifications and employer requirements.
• Prepare accurate take‑offs, Bills of Quantities and cost estimates.
• Source, analyse and negotiate supplier and subcontractor prices.
• Take ownership of pricing and tender submissions.
• Work closely with Contract Managers and Directors.
• Attend necessary meetings and support negotiations.
• Ensure a smooth project handover to operations.
• Manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
• Produce accurate and competitive submissions.

Required profile

• Previous mechanical estimation and pricing experience.
• Strong understanding of the building services industry.
• Experience interpreting drawings and specifications.
• Ability to prepare accurate take‑offs and cost estimates.
• Excellent commercial awareness and numeracy.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and work under pressure.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A professional and reliable approach.

• Salary £37,000‑£55,000 per annum.
