About the role
We are seeking an apprentice‑trained Mechanical Fitter to join a well‑established engineering company in Chorley. You will work on‑site alongside a team of engineers, handling assembly line tasks such as stripping, assembling and pre‑testing equipment for sectors including nuclear and automotive.
Key responsibilities
- Perform fitting duties including positioning, dialling and setting.
- Interpret engineering drawings to manufacture and assemble parts.
- Strip old equipment and assemble new machinery.
- Work Monday‑Friday 7:30‑16:00, with a half‑day on Friday.
Required profile
- Apprentice‑trained Mechanical Fitter.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Willingness to work on‑site in Chorley.
Required skills
- FLT (forklift) operation.
- Grinding and surface grinding techniques.
- Reading engineering drawings.
What we offer
- Salary £34,000‑£36,500 per year plus OTE up to £44,000.
