Mechanical Fitter

About the role

Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a long‑standing client’s Field Based Site Services Team. You will be based anywhere in the UK but will spend each week on customer sites across the country, installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical materials‑handling equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair conveyors, chains, sprockets, bearings, valves and related mechanical equipment.
• Provide on‑site mechanical support, diagnose faults and carry out repairs in line with Service Level Agreements.
• Interpret engineering drawings, flag discrepancies and contribute to drawing updates.
• Work safely following approved Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and site‑specific rules.

Required profile

• Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a heavy engineering or industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
