Mechanical Fitter – Training in Test & Commissioning

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join a leading aviation‑industry company in Stroud. The role offers structured training to become a Test and Commissioning Engineer, with clear progression and regular overtime opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle testing and repairs on specialist aviation equipment.
• Work with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical systems and engines.
• Support the service and after‑sales team as required.
• Visit customer sites for on‑site testing, installation and calibration.
• After training, undertake independent site visits and lone work.

Required profile

• Experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, pipe bending or a similar mechanical discipline.
• Ability to commute to Stroud.
• Motivation to progress into a test and inspection engineering role.
