Mechanical Fitter (Workshop / Trailers / Welding)

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Mechanical Fitter to join a brand‑new workshop in Thurrock. The role is days‑only, offering a stable routine while working on a diverse range of trailers, plant equipment and HGVs.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out servicing on heavy plant machinery, trailers and HGVs.
• Perform temporary welding repairs and ensure equipment is returned to operational condition.
• Maintain hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems in accordance with safety standards.
• Document work performed and communicate any recurring issues to senior engineers.
• Participate in scheduled preventative maintenance programmes.

Required profile

• Qualified Mechanical Fitter or equivalent.
• Experience with trailer, plant or agricultural equipment maintenance.
• Basic welding ability and familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and follow health & safety procedures.
