Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Elevation Recruitment Group is partnering with a leading manufacturing company in Sheffield to find a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. The role involves maintaining plant equipment, reducing downtime and supporting the engineering team across a four‑day week.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns daily.
• Assist the electrical engineer when required and support machine installations.
• Inspect, test and certify new and existing equipment to HSG236 regulations.
• Order and manage spare parts to ensure availability.
• Use the Shire (Pirania) CMMS system to record work and schedule servicing.

Required profile

• Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification (City & Guilds) – higher qualifications such as HNC/HND are advantageous.
• Minimum three years’ experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Mechanical engineering maintenance techniques (PPM, breakdown troubleshooting).
• CMMS operation – Shire (Pirania) system.
• Knowledge of HSG236 press certification standards.
• Equipment inspection and testing.
• Spare‑parts ordering and inventory management.
