Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – £48-50k

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading building‑services client on a brand‑new site in Liverpool Street, City of London. The role offers a competitive salary of £48‑50k and the chance to work alongside experienced M&E engineers in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, working with single‑phase and three‑phase circuits.
• Maintain emergency lighting, fire alarm systems and basic water‑treatment equipment.
• Service distribution boards, motors, pumps, bearings and seals.
• Maintain HVAC plant including AHUs, FCUs, VRVs and VRFs, and replace filters and belts as required.
• Update site logbooks, respond to emergencies and report to the Engineering Manager.

Required profile

• Fully qualified in a mechanical discipline (C&G, NVQ, EAL or equivalent).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously.
• Apprentice training is desirable but not essential.
