Mechanical Maintenance Technician

About the role
Our client, a specialist engineering firm in the North East, is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will help keep production running smoothly by maintaining plant equipment, responding to breakdowns, and supporting new installations.
Key responsibilities
- Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns promptly.
- Assist with plant installations and upgrades.
- Maintain hydraulics and pneumatic systems.
- Use Computerised Maintenance Management Software to log work and track assets.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician.
- Experience in a metal‑forming production environment (desirable).
- Awareness of PUWER regulations (desirable).
- Basic electrical knowledge.
