Mechanical & Piping Designer

About the role

Bilfinger is seeking a Mechanical & Piping Designer to join its UK team working on a nuclear industry project. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality 3D CAD models and design documentation while ensuring compliance with UK regulations and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Produce 3D CAD models and detailed drawings of pipework, vessels, and mechanical equipment using AutoCAD, Plant 3D and Navisworks.
• Ensure design deliverables are checked, compliant with ASME and BS EN standards, and meet Construction Design Management regulations.
• Coordinate the federated 3D model and communicate constructability, installation and transportation issues.
• Identify scope changes, provide early warnings and cost estimates, and support change events.

Required profile

• Qualification in Mechanical Engineering (HNC/HND) or equivalent.
• Experience as a designer on multi‑discipline engineering projects, preferably in the nuclear sector.
• Understanding of other disciplines (civil, structural, EC&I, process) and ability to work to engineering standards.
• Ability to obtain UK security clearance.
