Mechanical Project Manager – HVAC

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Project Manager with a focus on HVAC to lead air‑conditioning and ventilation installations for a well‑established mechanical contractor in Brightlingsea, Essex. You will be responsible for delivering projects from the pre‑start phase through to handover, ensuring they meet time, cost and quality targets.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise HVAC installation projects, managing labour, subcontractors, materials and programme schedules.
• Lead client and site meetings, providing regular progress updates.
• Monitor project costs, variations and support procurement activities.
• Control quality, commissioning and handover documentation while ensuring Health & Safety compliance.
• Support project reporting, forecasting and resource planning.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure commercial viability of each project.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing HVAC installation projects, typically valued between £100k‑£1m.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong organisational and leadership capabilities.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to work on‑site.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of HVAC, air‑conditioning, ventilation and ductwork systems.
• Technical drawing interpretation.
