Mechanical Project Manager

About the role

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading MEP contractor for a Mechanical Project Manager to join their project delivery team in Central London. The successful candidate will own technically challenging building‑services projects from the pre‑construction stage through to final handover, ensuring safety, programme, budget and quality targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Manage mechanical installations from pre‑construction through to handover across commercial, healthcare, education or residential sectors.
• Plan and coordinate labour, subcontractors and specialist suppliers, and monitor procurement schedules and material deliveries.
• Attend client, consultant and subcontractor meetings and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
• Review technical drawings, specifications and installation requirements to ensure compliance with regulations and project standards.
• Work closely with Quantity Surveyors to control variations, project costs and financial reporting.
• Oversee commissioning activities and support the final handover process.
• Produce progress reports, short‑term programmes and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Proven experience with an MEP or mechanical contractor delivering building‑services projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical installations and the ability to manage projects from inception to completion.
• Demonstrated capability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
• Experience working on commercial, healthcare, education or residential schemes.
