Mechanical Service Engineer

About the role

First Achieve Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Service Engineer to join its Service & Repair team in Glasgow. The role combines on‑site work at customer locations with workshop duties, covering a wide range of HVAC, commercial and industrial equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair various pumping equipment such as submersible, centrifugal, progressive cavity and air‑operated diaphragm pumps, as well as booster sets and pump stations.
• Inspect and assess pumps, electric motors and industrial fans, carrying out mechanical fault finding, repairs and planned maintenance.
• Install, set up and commission new equipment and perform basic pipework modifications where required.
• Complete site risk assessments and ensure all work complies with HSE legislation.
• Produce accurate service reports and deliver a high standard of customer service.

Required profile

• Mechanical engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, SVQ/NVQ, HNC/HND or equivalent).
• Experience as a Service, Maintenance or Field Engineer in industrial, manufacturing, HVAC or building services environments.
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding experience on pumps, motors, fans or other rotating equipment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Proactive approach with strong problem‑solving skills.
