Mechanical Shift Engineer – 4 on 4 off

About the role

This position is for a Mechanical Shift Engineer working a 4‑on‑4‑off pattern in a continuous process mill. You will deliver maintenance and breakdown support to keep plant equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Identify failure modes, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
• Coordinate with day‑shift engineering teams to resolve long‑term issues.
• Complete shift reports, SAP notifications and corrective‑action documentation.
• Locate, issue and return spare parts using the maintenance management system.
• Perform preventive maintenance routines on plant equipment.

Required profile

• Formal technical qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Good knowledge of 17th Edition IEE Regulations.
• Experience with motor control, instrumentation, PLCs and modern drive systems.
• Strong analytical ability and clear written/oral communication.
• Computer literate with practical experience of CMMS (SAP).
