Mechanical Site Supervisor – Water Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Site Supervisor to join a major water infrastructure scheme in Snodland. The role involves overseeing the installation and upgrade of mechanical water assets such as storage tanks, high‑pressure pipework and pumping systems on a long‑term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate and supervise all mechanical subcontractors and supply‑chain partners during fabrication, erection and installation.
• Interpret Isometric, General Arrangement and P&ID drawings to ensure correct installation.
• Witness and sign off quality checks, including pressure and hydrostatic testing of pipework networks.
• Review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements, deliver toolbox talks and conduct safety inspections in line with CMDP and Southern Water protocols.
• Maintain detailed progress records, manage non‑conformances and report to the M&E Project Manager/Lead Site Supervisor.

Required profile

• Gold CSCS Card (Supervisor) and EUSR (Water Hygiene) card – mandatory.
• Confined spaces training – highly advantageous.
• Proven experience supervising mechanical engineering packages within the UK water or wastewater sector, preferably clean water.
• Strong understanding of water treatment process systems, PVC pipework, pumping assets and chemical bund requirements.

Required skills

• Pressure and hydrostatic testing of pipework networks.
• Knowledge of water treatment process systems.
• Experience with PVC pipework systems and pumping equipment.
• Understanding of chemical bund requirements for mechanical installations.
