Mechanical Team Lead – Energy-from-Waste

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Team Lead for an Energy‑from‑Waste plant. This is a days‑based, Monday‑to‑Friday position based in the North West, where you will own the mechanical maintenance function and develop a high‑performing engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team delivering planned, preventative and corrective mechanical maintenance across the site.
• Manage maintenance planning and work orders using the CMMS.
• Oversee contractors, store inventories and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Participate in plant shutdowns, outages and be available for on‑call rota when required.

Required profile

• Qualified Mechanical Engineer with a trade apprenticeship.
• Proven mechanical maintenance experience in oil & gas, chemical or other process industries.
• Previous experience supervising maintenance teams or contractors.

Required skills

• CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) operation.
• Mechanical maintenance techniques (planned, preventative, corrective).

• Salary £55,000‑£60,000 per year plus overtime (1.5× weekdays, 2× weekends).
