Mechanical Technician – Aberdeen Workshop

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Technician to join our Aberdeen workshop team, focusing on the rebuild, commissioning and maintenance of cementing and other oilfield equipment. The role is workshop‑based and supports safe, reliable and efficient equipment delivery for global energy projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with rebuilds of cementing equipment and perform maintenance, inspection, diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of Halliburton oilfield assets.
• Service diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrain components, high‑pressure triplex and centrifugal pumps, air compressors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, gearboxes, PTOs, generators and chemical metering systems.
• Maintain 12/24 V electrical systems, equipment cabins and control panels, and conduct functional testing after work.
• Interpret mechanical schematics, drawings and technical documentation; perform basic troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Supervise and coach third‑party personnel when required and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Support equipment mobilisation, preparation and readiness for project deployment across workshop, yard and vendor locations.

Required profile

• Technical school certificate or equivalent in a mechanical discipline.
• Approximately five years of experience in mechanical, maintenance or oilfield services roles.
• Basic computer skills and ability to read technical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem‑solving ability and good written and verbal communication.
• Commitment to safe working practices and operational excellence.
